Konnichiwa! Ciro's Travel to Tokyo, Japan

Konnichiwa!

Back in 2013, Ciro went to Kyoto, Japan along with some friends to hold an exhibit about a fusion of western and oriental-inspired artworks. It was a 12-day visit that made a lasting impression for both Ciro and the guests.
His trip to the land of the rising sun was memorable. He met new friends and got acquainted with interesting stuff like Ramen, Sushi, Sumo wrestling, Sake, Samurai, Katana, Kanji, etc.

When an Italian-Artist meets the Japanese Culture it results in a magnificent display of art.

The exhibit in Kyoto showcased the curiosity of Ciro on the beauty that Japanese people appreciate. Bringing his artworks to Kyoto, he created a rapport with the Japanese curators and guests, all the more expressing fully, Belleza (beauty) through "Art".

The exhibit in Kyoto was titled "Mani-Materia-Poesia"

Ciro shared that he had  a lot of fun with Sumo wrestlers! Indeed, it is a great incentive for him, as he makes people happy with his creativity too :) Ciro also shared how sushi and sake tastes buono (tastes good)!

It is fascinating to note that Ciro imparted nuggets of wisdom about art.
In the video teaser for the exhibit, he says, "Beauty is not the sense of leziosita (affectation) but the message of profondity (depth), of value -  this is important."

I hope this post made you smile :)

  2. Ciao Edward, repeating myself. I said it was a grace for you to have met Ciro in person and to have actually seen his art. I have seen images of his work and heard of him only through the Focolare here in the Philippines. I still hope to meet him in case he visits the Focolare here in the Philippines. Thanks tgat Roman shared your blog.

    1. Ciao po! It really is nice to have met him, I'm trying to put into words and graphics all of his great works. Although it is utterly impossible, as i have to leave Loppiano soon, I guess it would be a great step to do for Ciro :) Yah, really been thinking how good it would be for him to visit us in the Philippines :) He jokes me about the carabao and the Dandansoy song... :)
